They twist and turn in only one direction. They cannot move forward, for the laws that govern them, refuse to allow such an event to occur. They can only move forward, into what is an implacable and unavoidable future. We who live under the laws of this ever-moving wheel can only submit to it, like slaves before a brutal master, the totality of time’s power over us cannot be refused, nor can it ever be broken.
