The Ruins

Far away in a distant land there was once a splendid kingdom. In its prime it ruled the world. Majestic and seemingly immortal, none suspected that a day would come when that kingdom would fall. They were naïve.

All things must pass. Everything dies. The same rule applies to civilizations.

The end of that kingdom came and it was a tragedy. All that was left behind was a set of ruins to tantalize those that came after.

One can imagine what the land was like when those ruins were at the height of their glory, when the streets were lined with gold, when the kingdom was flourishing, like a flower fully bloomed. It must have been a sight to behold.

But now it is decayed. What is left is nothing more than a sepulcher, a tomb to the once great kingdom. Time marches on, bringing more decrepitude and decline.
